THE TARSA IRRIGATION SYSTEM
And here is the Tarsa ready for cultivation.
INTRODUCTION:
The tarsa is used for growing of crops especially veges, it is less stressful compared to other system in terms of irrigation, as all u have to do is pump your water at a spot and it flows all around, soak up the soil just beneath the plant. It is very good for excessively dry areas were beds can be lowered a bit beneath the normal soil levels or in flooded areas were beds are lifted above soil level.
HOW TO PREPARE THE TARSA
1. Map out the bed area i.e. 6ftx14ft in any number of replica u want.
2. Clear and pack of weed and debris.
3. Scrap and move top soil to an area were u can put it back on the bed.
4. Dig you trenches and put soil on bed.
5. Spread the dug soil evenly on the bed area.
6. Mix the scraped top soil with compost at a 30/70 ratio (30% compost and 70% top soil).
7. Spread compost top soil mixture evenly on bed.
8. Soak up the bed with water and let water fill up all trenches too.
9. Now your bed is ready, plant your crop of choice.
10. Irrigate by simply filling the trenches up with water.
11. Drain by cutting the trench at an edge to allow out flow of excess water.
